Am I entitled to tax credits?

Hi there
I have just been offered a job with an annual salary of just over £15,000.
Does anyone know if I would be entitled to any working tax credits? I am single with no children in education. I personally think I won't be able to claim anything but after paying full rent and council tax I know there won't be much left for bills and food shopping.
Thanks in advance for any advice given:D

You can enter your details into the Turn2us online benefit calculator. What does it say?
I assume from your post you are a tenant - private or social housing? If private housing, how much over the LHA limit (see your council website) is your rent?
Do you have any non dependents living with you (adult children in employment, training or higher/further education)? Anyone else in your household?0 -

Thank you for replying. :DD :j
According to the calculations that I entered It claims I should be eligible for around £50 per week. If this is fairly accurate ,that would be a great help. :T .
I am living in social housing with my son who works so is classed as a non dependant.0 -
On an income of £15,000 your income would be too high to claim Working Tax Credits, the cut off point is just over £13,100.
Unless you have a disability then the cut off point is about £20,400.
Also we would need to know your income for the previous tax year as entitlement to tax credits is based on the previous tax year unless your income increases by more than £5000 or decreases by more than £2500.
Also, there is a very strong possibility that tax credits will be cut today due to the budget and the greedy Conservative government that only care about the rich.0 -
I thought I may have been entitled to a small amount but I did think their calculation was a little too generous to be honest.
Thanks to everyone for the feedback. Much appreciated.0 -
What was your total 14/15 income?
What is your expected 15/16 income? (if you were not working prior to this job then it would not be the full £15k+)
Depending on this, you may be entitled to a small amount of WTC0
