Debit mistake instead of credit refund

Hi
A week ago I returned two items in-store to Next for a refund. I have since realised they inadvertently debited my credit card instead of refunding it. Luckily, I still have both receipts - one for the original purchase and the other for the mistaken debit. What are my rights? If they check their records, stock levels etc, they should be able to trace the mistake and correct the position?

Yes but it will be quicker if you contact them to advise them of the problem.0

Shameless bump over spam:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0

I'm afraid the OP hasn't posted in a year and a half.
I think we need to assume they didn't get a refund and have starved to death.
I'm sorry.0 -

To pop and your newbie friend caramelinac:
You both claim to have the original purchase and refund documentation
Stop wasting your time signing up here to post this and call next and explain what has happened.
They will most likely apologise for the error and correct it.0 -
Unfortunately mate there's plenty of attention seekers here only too happy to answer such nonsense.
The crap that gets asked on this forum is a joke. 80% of people today simply don't posses the intellect to hold any kind of financial product but i guess that what the lenders love.
Unfortunately true. Typical MSEers copy each other and are apparently not conscious that they are sometimes perpetuating fallacies or asking questions that have already been asked numerous times.
MSE itself has a child-like outlook in that its advice is logical and easy to understand but fails to consider consequences. A ubiquitous example is to spend savings instead of getting credit. That's logical and reasonable. But if I did that I would have nothing to fall back on in an emergency.
It's the world we live in: We either fight the crowd and lose, join in with the crowd and win or just ignore it.0
