Arrangement to Pay

I have an arrangement to pay on my credit file for a credit card with MBNA. It was in 2009, I experienced financial difficulty and they agreed to freeze the interest and accepted a lower payment each month. I recall receiving a default notice for this card but dont have a copy as it was so long ago. I paid on time and stuck to the arrangement. In 2012 I settled the amount directly with MBNA. A few weeks later I got a letter from Moorgate Britannia advising the account had been passed to them so I contacted them and explained id paid it. I am now trying to get a mortgage and realise that this arrangement to pay will stay on my file for 6 years from date of settlement, had the default been applied the account would disappear this year from my file. I have queried this with all 3 credit reference agencies and was advised to contact Moorgate, they have now contacted MBNA on my behalf. Anyone have any experience of successfully arguing a default should have been applied to the account in similar circumstances? I tried MBNA first and they said they dont have any information on me as it was passed to Moorgate so im worried i'll be told there is no record of a default notice. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
