Holiday home or wait?

I have a little conundrum ...
I have the option to buy a holiday home I'd like but that would/may leave me a bit financial thin (thin, not in debt) for few months (6) whilst I build my saving pot again...
Worst case scenario would be if I were made redundant, possible not highly probable right now, but in that case I would have a comfy package to cushion me.
Am I being risky?
