Morning all - we actually have a blue sky and its looking very promising - but all three cats are still home and asleep on their blankets - what do they know that we don't?“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0

First time I've had the energy/concentration to get on here. Doing anything is literally exhausting.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the good wishes, bubbs passed them on and I was really touched.
Been a long road 10 hour op, 3 days in intensive care, then recovering on the ward. Am hoping to get out of here Monday, just trying to get a bit stronger so I can be sure I can independently mobile enough, as kids are away on NCS next week.
Kids came on Saturday, but won't see them til I'm home. Really missing them. My lovely friend came all the way from Manchester to see me on Wednesday, was great. Other than that no more visitors due, always tricky when you're not local to home.
Anyway, this has just about wiped me out! Thank you all again, especially bubbs. :A
Good morning LS lovely to hear from you and really have an affinity with you because of our similarities .Bless you:A
what a long haul you have had to arrive at where you are and sad so far away from Family and friends at a time when you really need their company and support.Hope you will not be too long before you are in the comfort of your own home surrounded by your family and friends but not before you are completely recovered from this very major operation...take care x0 -

I had a look at the newspaper thread on the discount code thread and sadly it now seems to be defunct. But the discussion was about the dark side.
I've never bothered with HKud much before, too over whelming, too fast moving and I have never posted on there, they get into scraps too easily.
but MSE has been so quiet recently I might have to start lurking.
how do people cope with it - do they just have the page open on the desktop and pop in and out as they go past the computer? or do they have some sort of system
is it worth having the app?
I checked the freebies page and the hot pages and went back about 4 pages which covered the last couple of days“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

There was a very cheap bathroom sink on Hukd and I actually found a stockists but about 30 miles away - I don't really want to order it to only find it is actually out of stock when I finally managed to struggle in that direction.
and then I looked at the cost of loos - HOW MUCH
we have finally got our tame builder in to do the upstairs bathroom :T but he has chosen to come over the weekend that our eldest is coming to visit
in the meantime I've got to make decisions about a shower unit at the very least, floor tiles and wall tiles. I've also still got the original pale pink loo and sink so ideally I want them changed and changed while the builder is here (and not by OH who thinks he is good at DIY but isn't)
I have no idea where to start even looking - our upstairs bathroom is over 20 years old and I have no idea how we even afforded it then.
Yes I've had at least 6 months to think about this and make a decision but I keep putting it off - I know this is going to be the most expensive project so far.
any help or suggestions pretty please - do I just grit my teeth and order everything off somewhere like Victoria plumb?“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
