Afternoon all - wondering if it's worth going out for toilet rolls as only have about 6 x 4 packs left? Can't really be bothered though as very wet & windy here, not to mention cold too. Maybe we'll get free ones again?? Hubby back in bed as in pain & little sleep.

She really should have had insurance when she booked the flight as things happen when we least expect them. A single trip one should be pretty inexpensive. Maybe get her to open her own Nationwide for annual insurance later, if she reaches the amount to add in monthly, it doesn't cost much to add worldwide cover on annually & then you don't need to worry. Make sure she has an ESTA as otherwise they won't let her in or possibly on plane. I always keep a note of mine with expiry date in passport

Had the cheap i3 refurbished laptop from Argos - looks totally unused, put windows 10 on it & it flies. Hubby however prefers his desktop :eek:so we've just had a delivery of a HP elite (get me!) i3 core with Windows 7 Pro refurb that again looks like new & I managed to get this for £78 delivered:T:THoping this one flies too once I put windows 10 on!

Haven't put windows 10 on mine yet as I use for internet banking with Nationwide. I read on here 10 doesn't work with Barclays - has anyone used Nationwide online banking & does it work OK with Windows 10?

Looks like setting up the new computer is down to me again as he's taken himself off to bed. I've only just realised why he didn't like the laptop - he'd been using it on the setting where t'internet takes up just 1/3rd of the screen!:eek:MEN!

Ah well, I get a laptop to use downstairs or out & about.:)

How have I missed free loo roll can any one enlighten me

    please

nationwide - if you have a flex plus account it costs £10 a month but you get worldwide travel insurance, phone insurance, identity theft, car breakdown cover, extended warranty, card assist etc and interest on your current account up to a £2,500 balance.
we keep the full amount in and get about £5 a month in interest so in real money it only costs a fiver a month.

otherwise a standard nationwide flexaccount they have to have at least £750 going in each month (for 3 months at least ???) and you get free European travel insurance.
Eldest son upgraded to worldwide travel insurance (not including US) and it cost him £20 in the first year but in year 2 they wanted £40 (might of been £60 for US cover) so he upgraded to flex plus as well

I'll have to have a look at this a bit better. We've just got the standard one at the moment.

TBH we were wondering if we could get hubby travel insurance at all. When we went over for younger daughter's wedding 3+yrs ago we had to go WITHOUT insurance for existing problems for him & me & were quoted I think £10Kish on top with Lloyds insurance on our bank account. Insurance companies many wouldn't quote us at all for US or we got quotes over £5,000 - £20K on existing problems BUT just for European! Doc told us just to go & enjoy. Hubby is originally from US so we hoped medicare might somehow kick in, if there was a problem.

When we went over to Nationwide & went to US last year + on a cruise + for nearly 6weeks we were amazed when they came back with a quote of around £200 FULLY insured. I think we paid £20 for US + about £60 for the extension on 31 days - what a difference a couple of years makes! We suspect it was because he hadn't been in/out of hospital on a nearly monthly basis. TBH he WON'T GO in now as I take better care of him.
