I was one of the ones with the 15k limit on a student loan YEARS ago and I worked in civil service after uni. The only time I got a student loan repayment taken out was if I got a bonus that took me over my starting wage. And it's 30 years it's written off after.
The media have caused hysteria and got things out of context. YES you are taking on 'a debt' with student loans. On the other hand, if you don't succeed in getting a good job......the likelihood of ever paying it all back is unlikely.
If you get a good job with good pay, you will pay for your education within a year or 2. £40,000 is a huge amount of money but quite honestly if you can get a good job on it and earn that for the rest of your life......is it really a hardship to pay back what's been given to you? You can do what you like with what you earn after that.
No one is stopped from an education because of these changes. No one pays upfront! We are so lucky in that respect. Every student website on the Internet is telling people to not let the changes affect people.......Getting something for nothing is good but times are hard and everything can't be free or subsidised
I read somewhere that one little reported aspect is is they are increasing rhe maintenance loan aspect to £8200 for some students from the current £3.5k (or thereabouts). As the repayment will not increase, is it not just another loan that for most will never get repaid anyway and may actually give more money for living costs while studying and make it more affordable (at the point of study).

Anyway, the interesting part, IMO, is that I noticed the other week that the invisible trigger (Simple facewash) that didn't appear on A.com or the APG could be uploaded onto A.com using the receipt upload and yes it showed as being in the 3 for £5. On the shop above I decided to test it out with the 2 for £2 biscuits and uploaded Yorkies from a previous instore receipt and added the Medley bars. It showed as 2 for £2 on my order:) and Yay the Yorkies are NOT on APG so Medleys compared:T.
I'll try it next with the Simple but probably won't be for a few days/week. If this continues to work and I don't see why it wouldn't It makes it easier to use up larger evouchers rather than instore APGs. I'm much happier having the larger APGs on C&C or HD.
Any thoughts or theories ?
