Sorry, didn't mean to quote you miss_corerupted :p

Isn't there an automatic right to cancel in the first 7 days if you buy online?

I think there is, although there is normally a fee. However, it might be worth considering as the fee might be less than getting a one day insurance policy (something I have been looking into today, but I'm not paying almost £50 for one day, when a yearly policy is only £200).

Anyway, I've cancelled with my current insurance provider, as their quote couldn't match the cheapest I've got. As it stands, my policy runs out at 00.01 on Monday, and I'm still non the wiser as to what to do, but I could definitely do with use of the car on Monday.

I'm thinking at the moment of taking it out for me, checking with the company how much the cancellation fee is, and as long as it isn't prohibitive, looking at it again when I'm out of hospital and son is back from his NCS (presuming he passes). If he doesn't pass, I've obviously got longer to ponder the dilemma.

Although I won't be using it for weeks, it is taxed, and whilst it will be kept on my drive I think it needs to be insured or I have to SORN it, which is just something else to think about to be honest.

Good morning everyone, sun is back out here :D Seem to have a multitude of raspberries to pick :D

I often see this sort of comment posted. I have found when it happens that if you press the browser forward button (arrow top left hand on IE) then it is still sitting there :D

I can empathise with this. I will always remember my mother absolutely refused to have a private nurse look after her when she was at home. For a year she was in and out of hospital, when she was out there had to be someone with her so my father nearly lost his job and I was not allowed to go out. She was turning into a very bitter woman which did not help. Instead of nice memories of spending time with her I have memories of her constantly picking arguments and playing on the fact she was ill to get her own way. It would have been so much nicer if she had agreed to a private nurse, not sure if hospices were around 30+ years ago but if they had been that would have been the ideal solution.

SSM, sorry to hear about your OH father. Sounds like a really difficult situation to be in with the way his mum is acting.

Thanks for your kind words. I do think that we would be prosecuted for keeping a dog in such pain... it does seem so wrong. x
