I have a mhoc style dilemma, and would welcome some opinions/advice?

My car insurance runs out at 00.01am on 27th July (Monday).

My 17 year old has his driving test at 10.24am on 27th July!

I go into hospital on 28th July for at least a week, followed by a minimum of 6 weeks not driving. Somewhere in that time (think its very early in September) MOT is due.

I am likely to need the car on monday to do last minute running about ready for going into hospital.

If DS passes, he thinks he wants to get insured on my car, but at some point in the next couple of months wants to buy his own car (or may possibly be bought one by grandparents for his 18th in November).

Even if he does pass, he goes away on National Citizen Service on 3rd August. First 2 weeks are residential, 3rd week is local but I have sorted lifts, so realistically, he wouldn't really be in a position to drive my car until week beginning 24th August, by which time I should be home (but not driving!) unless something terrible has gone wrong.

So many options, I don't know what to do. Try and extend insurance to last the Monday then declare as SORN and sort it out when I'm home and feeling a bit better?

Hold out til I know whether he has passed or not, then take out insurance then and there so I can drive about for the day, but that forces him to make a decision on the spot as to whether he wants to go on the insurance or not if he passes. That then leads to payment, paying up front is cheaper, but then if he was to get insured on my car, but in a couple of months gets his own, can I take him off mine and get a refund of remaining months?

My head hurts trying to decide! :o

For the amount it will probably cost to extend it for a day, or two, you might find it is cheaper to just use taxi's to get everywhere. Its another option, or even hire a car for a day or two.

Well that is annoying - Choco Lait was on my CS and Mrs Anon's, but only on my CoS.

Really must check all apps before buying.

I have also messed up a Walkers claim today as it was one of my "other" emails and I mistakenly clicked on the set up a new Shopit option rather than the button below (I had even filled in the form with my email, I wasn't paying attention!). As you can only have one Shopit that may be lost :(.

Please remember that MSE doesn't allow discussions about users who have been PPRd so it would be best to stop this all right now before the FT get even more fed up with the thread and its ongoing issues.

I would look at getting the son on the insurance to run concurrently, so that your car is not left uninsured.

I took 100 packs into an office i use, they went in 2 weeks. I took another 100 into a Children's Centre, they still have some left. I got 100 for home, and we still have about 80 left... the 20 that have gone were stolen by my mum! She does love it when she thinks she got something for free..........I wonder where I get it from!

I look a box of crisps into an office today... I used the phone and when I had finished they had all gone!
