Generally the INsurer and FOS will not pay you lost earnings as these are non insured expenses that each individual incurs during a claim.
FOS will demand that the insurer pay LoE where the losses were necessary and due to the fault of the insurer significantly messing up the handling of a claim (insurers are held liable for the actions of their suppliers)0 -
Agreed - it is known as "trouble and upset" nowadays. What it will not award is loss of earnings which the claimant would have incurred had the claim been handled with reasonable efficiency.InsideInsurance wrote: »FOS will demand that the insurer pay LoE where the losses were necessary and due to the fault of the insurer significantly messing up the handling of a claim (insurers are held liable for the actions of their suppliers)0
