So I just opened my mail to find a letter of the court saying a judgment had been issued against me for the sum of £2200
I have no clue what this is for, it's in my previous name that I have not used in 6 years but at my current address.
I have lived here 18mths and never revived a letter informing me of any action. If I had I would have put it on my debt managemt plan which I have had running for almost 4 years.
Now the only thing I can think of is it's a welcome finance car loan, but that was at least 8 years ago since I defaulted on that, only reason I defaulted was because I lost my job.
I'm baffled

Youll have to ask the court who the claimant was and where the original court forms were sent. then decide if its worth fighting to get it set aside.Still rolling rolling rolling......

rizla king is right, the letter from the court will have the case reference and the name of the court – with these details you can call the court and find out who the claimant is. Contacted the claimant ,if the name is unfamiliar, and ask them what they were chasing and then take it from there.
It might be worth checking out some other information on the Limitations Act and Set Asides from some other threads,
