  • I am very surprised that so few are changing!

Why aren't people doing so? It's like throwing money down the drain if you don't.

I also voted that I haven't changed because my current provider is the cheapest for me - I'm always changing through their fixed deals, though.

It's silly to assume that everyone is in a bad deal.

What the market needs, in my opinion, are fully integrated smart meters. You should be able to go online, see Real Time energy prices, your own consumption and purchase energy there and then for as long or short duration as you like. The technology is available, it should be no more difficult than an on-line shop. That would really drive competition.

For the IT shy, you should be able to purchase energy from any supplier at the checkout in the supermarket. The meters could be represented by a smart card.
Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc

We've swiched once.... an erroneous transfer..somebody somewhere earnt a packet on commission for moving us to another provider and 7 months on we are still trying to sort out the mess. Been threatened with collection agencies for a debt with a provider we never changed to, and both current provider and new supposed provider both as use as a chocolate fireguard.
As soon as something is sorted to stop these rogue transfers the better, as the stress and time its taken to sort is just stupid.
