First Parking Fine and I need HELP please!!!!

I was stupidly given advice about ignoring a parking fine from VINCI whilst parking at Derriford Hospital. I have now had my parking fine handed over to the debt collection agency ZZPS. I've been looking at forums, but I'm confused about what I should do. Its gone from £25 up to £110 and threat of court action. I tried to settle it with VINCI, but they have said it is now completely in the hands of ZZPS. Any advice about what I should do next, I'd be very grateful. Thank you

yes, please read the newbies sticky thread near the top of this forum

especially read post #4 about ignoring debt collectors

ZZPS is a debt collector , IGNORE them

if VINCI send you an LBC or an MCOL, come back for more help

they have 6 years to pursue the keeper if they adhered to POFA 2012 (or driver in any case)

do not admit who the driver was, to anyone

try to get it cancelled by PALS at the hospital, or their Human Resources section (or whatever they may call it)

ps:- it is not a FINE , its an invoice, nothing more , nothing less

Start by reading post four of the Newbies Sticky - it gives you all the help you need for dealing with debt collectors. :)
  • Redx, thank you for your advice! I've had a good read of things, but I still have anxieties. It all sounds like an incredibly drawn out process which sounds like it will only get worse before it gets better. I don't want the ordeal of having court and contacting the police for harassment. I'm a single mom and just need this to go away quickly. Is it worth negotiating with ZZPS and getting a reduced fine?

I doubt it , they will just want their money to get their cut, so they will want all of it , they put PROFIT before PEOPLE , so nothing but full payment will make it "go away quickly" (which I do not advise you to do , it encourages them to bully other people and fill their fancy cars full of petrol)

you dont really have a lot of choice other than get the LANDOWNER to cancel it

shame you didnt come and ask when Vinci sent you the NTK, could have taken it to popla then

there is no magic wand to make it "go away" despite your wishes , sorry

I would tough it out for 6 years , same as thousands of other people have done , all ZZPS can do is send nasty , scary looking letters, nothing else, so dont read them

only read what Vinci or a court send you
  • So shall I write to Vinci despite them saying it is now in the hands of the debt collectors? Even send a cheque to them to finalise the issue? I have a mortgage and im worried that if I need to remorgage, they will ask if I have any outstanding debt. Im also a nurse, and risk my NMC registration by failing to be an upholding member of society. and thank you for your help. Wish Id have paid the bloody thing in the first place!

its a civil matter, not a criminal matter

its an outstanding invoice you have not paid

Vinci can try an MCOL to try and get it paid , you may win , you may not , you may push it to popla with the judge`s consent

nothing will happen to your credit rating unless you were taken to court , lost , and didnt pay within 28 days, then a CCJ would happen and only then can it affect your credit rating

have a word with your union

complain to the landowner and get it cancelled, that is where your efforts should be focussed
