House development on old petrol station. Opinions?

I bought a house on potentially contaminated soil. After contacting the council and checking the contamination levels and future risks. Now the whole area has been built on, I doubt there's that many people who are still aware that there used to be a battery factory down the road.
For me personally, the site being a former petrol station would not be an issue if I could see and double check the information that you have about current contamination levels.
In fact, it's possibly safer than houses built on brownfield sites a few years back when things weren't being checked in the same way. Whether other potential buyers would see it like that, who knows? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
It wouldnt bother me. It will probably be a footnote on the search and thats all.
What may bother me is until Sat Nav software is updated, you'll have every car, bike, lorry and coach pulling up looking for petrol :rotfl:0 -
A lot of petrol filling station and garage sites have been redeveloped for housing, so this is a common problem. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

He said they changed the postcode.
So I guess that is the reason they changed the postcode for the housing development.0 -
Provided it has been decontaminated properly it shouldn't be a problem.
I don't know whether people perceive the problem to be from fuel leaking into the soil or from the walls of the tank collapsing, but both should be covered by certificates.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. This wouldn't bother me at all. There's a development where we used to live built on a former petrol station and they all sold so there must be a fair few people who don't care!0

Changing the post code won't matter. It still points to that location0
