Selling 20+ 'Council Slabs'

When I bought my house last year the garden was paved for the entirety (it was rented, so easy maintenance I assume). I want to get some grass down so I've pulled up half the slabs to make way for soil and turf.
These slabs are the beasty 600x600x50mm concrete things that weigh a tonne! I now have them stacked and stored down the side of the house while I work out what do do with them. Most of them came up fairly clean, but some still have mortar stuck to the back of them.
Would I be able to sell these on eBay or local Facebook groups, or are they worthless? If I cant sell/give them away I'll have to resort to getting a skip as these things are way to heavy to take to the dump.

Someone will grab your hand off for them on the usual FB groups , minimal amount though really , say £10-£15Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

Might be worth putting your (approximate) location on here - you might get someone local who wants them.
I've used them in the past on top of a gravel drive as two "tyre tracks" plus a couple of strategically placed central ones - was running a classic car and jacking the thing up was a regular occurrence. The heavy council slabs are great for this they are "compressed concrete" (IIRC) and far stronger / less likely to crack under a car's weight as a result.0 -
They can't be 5cm thick, can they?Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

If they are the heavy compressed concrete ones then yes, 5cm will be correct. They are TOUGH !0

Give them away on Freecycle.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

People very rarely want them… Even less likely to pay you for them…Getting a skip normally cost “100 -200 it’s often easier/cheaper to dig a hole or pay someone to and bury them….. You have the benefit of soil for your new garden the slabs/ hardcore if you ever need it….0

I doubt you will get much if anything for them. The problem is getting rid of them ie loading them up and disposing of them that takes a fair bit of effort ie for you or the buyer. I see them all time on facebook often free. If you get rid of them to council they may be a cost my council charge now for disposing of all building contents even if its a home owner with there car0

People from allotments will snap your hand off for them,
Sell them for 50p each, this way they will all go and it saves you the cost of a skip.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I put mine on gumtree saying they were free to anyone who could collect, got loads of interest, and they were gone in 2 days (several car trips). They're perfect for allotments and sheds. Do say in the adverts though that it will take 2 people to lift them.Debt £26k 18/10/140

I would take them off your hands for free, maybe give you a few quid too.
If we knew where you were we could suggest better ideas.
I need about 40 more to finish paving my garden and am hunting around for some cheap.63 mortgage payments to go.
