Tesco 0% deal ending - questions about switching / tarting (newbie stoozer)

Hi, my 18 month 0% interest Tesco credit card is coming to the end of the 0% period on 1st August so I need to switch.
It's been maxed out at £8,400 for a while now - i've kept the money to repay in my offset mortgage account to do stoozing.
I've been looking at doing a balance transfer to the no-fee 18 month Post Office card, but have a few questions.
1. How do I know that my credit limit on the Post Office card will cover the amount I want to transfer? Ideally, could it be increased?
2. What sort of length of time should I allow myself for the application process so I can get my money out of Tesco before I get charged interest? Guessing a week would be enough or is that too short?
3. I'd like another Tesco credit card to start spending with (for clubcard points) - is it possible for me to cancel my current one and then re-apply for a new one later? If so, is there a recommended amount of time I should wait to increase eligibility?
Thanks
Ashley

1) You dont, and this is one of the reasons why stoozing became less common/popular post the credit crunch when limits for new cards were generally slashed. You can appeal a decision if they give you a low limit but there is no guarantee they will increase it.
2) A week is enough if it all goes well. If you get declined/ need to appeal etc then evidently it wont be
3) Why do you need to cancel the current card if you are just using it for spending and will be paying it off in full each month? If you are wanting interest free period again then you need to read the T&Cs to see if there is a minimum gap between the cards to requalify for the promotion, many want a 6 month gap but it will be spelled out in the terms.0
