MSE News: 'Millions paying too much for energy bills'

The basis of the report seems to be that if more people switched more often then the big 6 would have to reduce prices.
The problem is you life then becomes over-run with constant switching and you become a slave to energy.
To be honest once I've got up, got the kids ready for school, been to work, come home, managed my meds, managed to get an hours peace/rest/recovery, it's time to go back to bed.
There is too much emphasis on the consumer to keep constantly switching and it is letting the energy companies off the hook.
Wholesale costs have reduced by huge amounts yet only a tiny fraction of that has been passed to the consument and everytiome there is a price change, either up or down, theres a different reason as to why the customer is being shafted.
It's time something was done to make tarrifs easier to understand, make switching sites easier to understand, make switching sites completely independent and fine/close any which are involved in deals with the energy companies.
Finally, it's time to make the energy market work for the customer, not make the customer work for the energy market.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Energy is just like insurance (car, house etc), when the renewal comes around you search for the best deal. If it was supermarket shopping would you keep shopping at the closest store to you if it became the most expensive, probably not you'd travel a bit further to save money. Even if you switched supplier every year it's only take you about an hour. If you can save £100 for 1 hours work that's a very good rate of pay, most people could a day off work unpaid and still be in pocket. The basis of the report seems to be that if more people switched more often then the big 6 would have to reduce prices.
