R85 form

I have completed an R85 form and was wondering if this should be posted to my local HSBC or to which address. I tried to look it up but have not had any luck.

I took mine to the local banks and then posted any others I couldn't reach - Lloyds and TSB for me.

HSBC's website doesn't help much. In at least one place it says send the R85 to your tax office (clearly wrong!); in other places they try (and fail) to link to the R85 on the gov.uk site.

However in many places they say take the R85 to your local branch, so that's what I'd do.

I took it to the local branch. At first the cashier I dealt with said I had to post the forms to the head office. Eventually he disappeared to confer with someone, returned and told me it was alright and everything had been done. I wonder if it actually is in place or not, I suppose I will have to wait and see if tax is removed or not. Or am I able to check in my online account?

Check to see if your bank actually needs an R85.
I know Lloyds will accept your oral instruction at the counter.
A letter follows in a few days to confirm.
