Accepted compensation offer, messing about with cheque?

I accepted a compensation offer 5 weeks ago, And they have been messing me about, first they said the did not recivce the offer aceptence letter then they said that they would send the cheque out within the next few days a week later no cheque arrived with my solicitor so my solicitor contacts them again and is told it wasn't sent out but it will be send out again in a couople of days, the last time was a week ago and ive heard nothing since, ive left a answer phone msg to my solicitor to see if there are any more updates as they said they would let me know when they recivce the cheque and post it 1st class to me.

Does anybody know if they have a certain time they have to send the cheque after you accept the offer?

Your solicitor will (or should) know how to deal with this attempt to frustrate you getting your money.

Ultimately they can get a court order for the money to be paid, (though that will take up more time)

Why bother with a cheque - tell them to send it by BACS direct to your account.
I don't think they will do a faster payment or CHAPS (for free anyway).

Your solicitors could do with starting Part 8 court proceedings against the insurers for breach of contract if the terms of settlement have been breached..
