Jessops Passport Photo Issue

I recently had some Passport Photos taken in the Shrewsbury branch of Jessops at the cost of £10.
I paid by Debit Card in store.

I took said photos with me all the way to the Passport office up in Liverpool as we're going away in 10 days time I needed a quick Passport. At my allocated appointment I was informed that the photos would probably not be accepted by the system as there was shadows protruding under my ears which would upset the computer comparer thing. The shadow when pointed out to me was incredibly obvious. I took some more photos there at the cost of £5 without the shadow, all is well, I received a text today my passport is currently being printed.

I went back to my Jessops branch in Shrewsbury and they wouldn't refund me for the photos as apparently 'it's a service, not goods' and they would 'happily retake the photos if I wanted'. No I don't bloody want, I trekked all the way to Liverpool!

I would love to get a refund, any advice?

Contact customer services, I'm sure they'll sort it for you.

    It's not a scam, it's a mistake.

Can you upload the photos - passport photos always good for a laugh....

  • Passport photo's are a rip off in my opinion, sorry to be off subject but new and not sure where to say this?

They cost from £5.00 to £12.00 depending where you go and are printed on the same paper in stores like Jessops, Max Spielmann and others that would cost you 5 - 30p that's some cost for the service that takes a few minutes. I now use a free website, take my own photo against a white background, upload it to the site, adjust and crop it to size and then print them on an inkjet printer and have had no issues. But I think the shops that are doing them should charge no more than £2.50

I do the same as you and use epassportphoto.com, save it to my memory stick and get the photos printed at my local Boots Kodak instant self service section for 39p for the 4 photos. If you want to save even more you you order and pick up a bit later and that is only 20p.
