What does a Fit Note do to a JSA claim

Hi
I'm in a real mess as to what to do
I worked last week for an employer who couldn't accept my medical conditions (learnt a big lesson there, if they were ever allowed to ask) so appreciate it was back to the Jobcentre
If you have now been given a fit note of more then 2 weeks, does this immediately terminate any claim to JSA? will I not be signing on - I see on the back it says to send the note into the Jobcentre
I do also want to work to not make matters worse. I have interviews lined up but feeling more unease now then ever with this fit note attached - can I still go to interviews? how does this work with the Jobcentre as I can't help myself updating UJM notes so they see I'm still applying for work, am I right that I receive SSP rather then JSA if I hand this note in?
Thank you for any help as never been in this position

You should be eligible for Statutory Sick Pay from your employer.
If you are not eligible then they will have to give you a form SSP1 which you can then use to claim ESA.
Check to see if you are eligible.

Are you still employed? If you are then you cannot claim JSA. Being employed but looking for a new job is not the same as job seeking whilst employed.
You could claim ESA and still job seek and remain employed. You will need a fit note the whole time that you are on ESA until you are assessed.0 -
You can continue on JSA but be given limited things to do if you hand in the fitnote, or you can close your JSA claim and claim ESA instead. If you want to continue jobseeking then you might want to stick with the JSA. Rules have changed recently and you are allowed up to 13 weeks sickness if needed.0
