Barclays Data Theft

Hi

Both my husband and I received a letter from Barclays in the last two weeks saying our details had been stolen prior to 2009 and for the upset and inconvenience they would be depositing £250 in both out bank accounts.

Obviously we both thought it was a scam but after visiting Barclays they have confirmed its correct!

My letter arrived in my maiden name (although I was married in 2008 at a totally different address!) which has also worried me.

Has anyone else received these?
Is there any point worrying now? Especially as it was so long ago?
If they're going to have done anything with my details, surely they'd have done it already?

Just looking for some input.. sorry if this is posted before, but I haven't seen it!

    How can worrying help anything?

Relax and celebrate £500 windfall instead of worrying.
