Slow Cooker function as part of oven

Good afternoon!

I just wondered if anyone has an oven that has a slow cook function and if they found it useful? My OH has an aversion to anything cooked in my normal SC, so (as we're doing the kitchen), I have been looking into ovens with this facility which would be ideal because if I do ever cook anything in the SC, I would normally have to 'finish it off' in the normal oven for OH!!

Any experiences would be useful and am grateful for any comments!

We just turn the oven down to its lowest setting.

You should be able to do that with almost any oven. Gas or Electric.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

All ovens have a 'slow cook' function, it's the lowest setting ;) or you can slow cook on the hob on the lowest setting.

You just need to find a suitable pot and away you go.

    Thank you!

I did wonder about the whole 'just put it on low' thing but some of the ovens I have seen have a defrost function and slow cooker function so wondered what the difference was.

None of the ovens I have seen cost more because of this, so I am not buying it just for that.

I think defrost is too low, mine is only 50c, which is too low to cook safely

I have a separate slow cooker thingie section in my range. We use it a fair amount. Never had a 'normal' slow cooker though. No fan or fancy settings, just on or off.

Our oven has a slow cooker function. I did not buy it for that reason, I don't think I would have noticed it at the time. I use it as a slow cooker instead of a counter top one.

If I was buying a cooker now and there was not much difference in price then I would buy one with that function.
