Hi all good MSE folks,

I have a query in disputing a late payment 2 marker on my file, i didn't actually realise that EE had placed a late marker on my file from may 13- Sept 13. can this be disputed now the account is settled?

Back story: November 2012: I'm 22 Months into my 24 Month contract: eligible to upgrade (had to pay £49 or so, my final bill) did this in Store, new phone in hand.. great! (or so i thought) December 19th 2012: i receive a call saying my DD for November has not been paid.. i stated well that's cos i paid it via Card in store, lady was okay with this, said goodbye.

January 10th 2013, another call: DD for November still not paid.. now i started to worry, and advised i paid it via card, went into Store, Advisor confirms payment made via card, however he paid it to the wrong account (huh, how?!) he stated would sort it.. on my way i toddled..

March 2013 - i get disconnected for failing to pay my November bill (bearing in mind Jan/Feb/March DD was all paid)
i phone 150, stated it was a mistake, i was re-connected within the hour.. no goodwill compensation was received!! ;P

May 13 - disconnected once again, called CS: they now advised me they cannot reconnect me, as the intial £49 i paid to upgrade was refunded into my account in December (WAS IT?!) i checked my statements.. ofc no, it wasn't refunded..

I called CS back: faxed them over the statements to show that the refund was never received (i even made a reference to "i wonder if you refunded the correct account, witty i know :P) CS re-connected me, apologised and stated that i did not receive the refund from the paperwork she can see, asked her to update my notes to reflect this (which later was shown to never have been done)

a week or so later, disconnected again (getting to be a pain this is) called CS, asked to speak to manager, got transferred to a female who stated she "knew my complaint as she listened in to my previous call earlier in the week" didn't take my argument into account at all; stated that unless i paid £49.16 i woild be transferred to collections.. i told her to "do it, maybe they'll have some sense".

Spoke to collections: advised can see no refund, reconnected me..

i cancelled my DD, made the bill payment via card for the remainder of the contract (til Nov 14, such a long time with a company i now despised!!) then left to join o2 (whether this was a good idea remains to be seen!)

however, just been checking my noddle account and didn't realise you could view "Closed Account" (noob!) went over to the EE account... and there are the 2 late payments..

so with this ESSAY of a post....

can i dispute this?

TL;DR: EE late markered me for no reason: can i argue this?

Cheers! :)

If you can prove you've paid on time (bank statements, maybe), then you'll have a good case.

If not, then much less so.
