Used car consumer rights?
Last Thursday I purchased a used car from a local dealer for £1800, today Sunday the gearbox packed up. Whilst no warranty or guarantee was included I'm led to believe that I still have some sort of comeback as not being fit for purpose or similar.
Looking for advice on how to approach this with the dealer, especially if he becomes uncooperative?
I paid for car with Visa debit card so chargeback may also be an option for me.
Any advice much appreciated, thx.
Paul.

You have rights under the SOGA. It would be up to the dealer to prove the fault was not there at the time of purchase, although as its been so soon, it would be deemed to have been there.
In fact, at this stage, you could rightfully reject the car, and ask for a full refund, however if the dealer agree with you then it becomes a court issue.
If you're not going to reject the car, then it would be up to the dealer to inspect the car, and then decide to repair, refund or replace the car.
Dont go in demanding your rights, but be firm.0
