Giving away bed - can I?

Hi folks. I'm off to Spain and have a single bed with a pull out second bed below. Had it some years but very rarely used.
I thought some young family might be grateful for it so I'd give it away but can I ?
There is a label on it . It says: RESISTANT with a fire symbol and a 1 next to it. Above is a burning cigarette symbol. I know there are rules on Fire resistance of Sofas so wanted to make sure. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it as can't stand waste.
Cheers
ps Just seen says BS 7177 on the bases and the mattresses. Is that ok?

I believe past performance is a good guide to future performance

Of course you can give it away.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Thanks phill but I guess what I'm asking is does it meet current requirements if say I bought it from a shop? I don't want the death of someone on my hands.
My concern in part is raised by examples of labels showing both a burning match and a burning cigarette. Mine only the latter.
I understand there were further changes after BS 7177.I believe past performance is a good guide to future performance :beer:0 -
surely if they are stupid enough to smoke/light matches in bed, then its their own fault if they burn to death not yours. Stop worrying and get it on freecycle - say its for non smokers only0

AIUI fire regulations only apply to business activities, not private sales.
"The Regulations apply to second-hand furniture sold by
persons in the course of business or trade such as
auctioneers"
In fact, it's even stated that the regulations do not apply to charities that collect and distribute free of charge furniture to needy people - however they do discourage distribution of furniture that does not conform to the regulations.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
It will be snapped up on free cycle or eBay - and they come and take it away0

Many tx benjus. I have now found a charity so hopefully they will find a deserving home for the bed. :beer:I believe past performance is a good guide to future performance :beer:0
