Halifax Clarity Card - is it standalone On Line or not?

I have just got a Halifax Clarity card but I can't find it as an online card - unless I link it to a Halifax current account? Is this right?? I am perfectly happy with my current bank & have no intention of switching. This is not insurmountable: I will set up HCC as 1 of my payees, but it does mean that I can't track card activity- other than keeping a manual check. I intend only to use the HCC when abroad, & wanted to make online same day payments from my own account. Suppose I could open a Halifax account, but I really don't want to! Any suggestions?

If you click "Register" on the Halifax homepage there seems to be an option to register for online management of your Halifax credit card as a standalone product.

You should have online access, might be best to ring them up and check and arrange access.

I've had savings accounts with Halifax that pre date my clarity but most of these are now closed, just a single one open and the clarity is the main active account for me.

Personally I don't see the need for same day or next day payments, you incur interest on cash withdrawals but if you wait a week or two until you return then it's normally a few tens of pennies for that time.

That isn't the issue though. OP wants to "track card activity", ie monitor transactions as they appear - both debits and credits.

The Clarity is the first and only product I have with Halifax, I have it online and on my phone. I don't remember how I set it up but I'm a tech dinosaur so it can't be too hard..!

Thanks all! I did try Registration, Yorkshire Boy, but it seemed to demand details of a Halifax account, & yes, I do want to track activity online. Anyway - all else failing I rang them & they fixed me up online- without me having to have a Halifax account! Next trauma, having a wrestle with getting it set up on my phone......

"You only need to tell us about ONE of your HALIFAX accounts" - with a dropdown menu underneath where one of the options is "Credit Card" - followed by the 'Card Number".

Grumbler - you are right. I never tried the dropdown menu! I just looked at the Header about Halifax accounts & assumed it meant accounts only.
Thanks for the advice! Lesson learnt - read everything & assume nothing!
