I suspect any compensation is for damaged caused by issues they create. A 3rd party damaging the line is out of their control, so any compensation would probably only be a goodwill gesture.
Again all comes down to can you prove the person who cut the wire was negligent, or was it simply an accident, if the wire was lying in a load of brambles that being were cut its just an accident, just as if the plant life had wound its way around the wire and pulled it from any protective casing, or pulled the casing off.
Good Luck but I suspect it will be a difficult thing to prove.0 -
Maybe I'm a cynic...but I would still keep a very close eye on your phone bills -BT are known to take the easy way out and charge the EU, rather than pursue 3rd party contractors ,with whom they have no direct relationship:(
I have personal experience of a similar nature and it took 6 months to get the bill cancelled that they sent me wrongly.0 -
