    Morning all,

Its raining here :( which is a bit strange after all the sun but I suppose the gardens need it.

Going to drop dd at work this morning which should be quiet due to the rain. Going to have an easyish day today although I have to do an online shop (or see if we need one) and we have to do some ebay listings.

Finished my larder cupboards yesterday I absolutely love them (photos on FB) I need to stock them up a bit I didn't realise how little we actually kept, it looked like loads in the little cupboard.

Going to do a chicken for dinner with cubed garlic potatoes and some salad its too hot for a roast for us, will do it for early evening.

Right better get on have good days all xx

Cooler here today and very grey, it looks like we could have some rain.

I have been up since 6am, just couldn't get back to sleep. So I had a potter around the garden then tidied up a bit and had breakfast.

DH is taking DD to work in a little while, then we are going to see the outlaws.

DD and her BF are going to a BBQ this afternoon so I only need to cook for DH, DS and myself so I am going to do lamb chops with new pots and HG runner beans, using up the last couple of bags from last years harvest for dinner, with a rhubarb crumble and ice cream for dessert.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Its really easy just peel some spuds chop into cubes and par boil for just a few minutes, then put them into some hot oil in the oven (as you would with roasties) with some crushed garlic and an onion chopped really fine. They are delish and lighter than roasties if you don't fancy a big dinner xx

    Good morning everyone,

Thanks for starting off the thread HH, glad you enjoyed the Hampton Court Flower Show, I watched it on the TV and it looked lovely.

Well I have woken up to pouring rain this morning. I left a load of washing out last night, so I've brought it in spun it through the wm and hung it up indoors. I have some ironing to do. Yesterday we did have a quick clean through, before DH and I walked down to Rochester High Street and had lunch in the 'spoons pub before walking home.

Not sure what else we will do today, just potter about. DS has gone off to see some friends in Bromley but will be back tonight. DD is still in bed but will be doing some homework later.

Not sure what we will have for dinner today, I have a quorn roast in the freezer so may have that. redruby those garlic potatoes sound lovely so may try them later. thankyou x

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Thanks for the idea redruby. I often do the same using sprigs of rosemary. Never thought of garlic and onion. They sound rather tasty!

    Good evening everyone,

Just popped back to say I've had a lovely afternoon with DH. The rain stopped and the sun came out, so went for a drive to a local garden centre, where I bought a tray each of reduced cabbage plants, carrots and parsnips for £1.50 all safely planted in the garden.

We then went on for a drive and found a fishing lake and then a diving centre that is doing scuba taster sessions next Sunday, so we are trying to persuade the children to have a go:D We drove around the country lanes and saw lots of crops growing in the area.

We came home and I cooked a quorn roast with redruby's potatoes which were lovely and everyone agreed together with yorkshire puds, carrots and peas. I have made a maderia cake.

    Have a great evening everyone.:)
