How does one go about setting up Google drive as a mounted drive on Macbook air please? I have Googled but solutions seem outdated or just don't work.
Is there a simple way of doing this please? I want to set it up this way so I am not forced to sync a local folder and can drag and drop stuff right on to Google drive instead of having to keep a local folder in sync all the time. Thank you

I don't understand what you are trying to achieve.
Google Drive appears as a folder in the left column of any window. You can drag & drop files to/from that folder. That's how it's designed to work.0 -
It's not mounted as a drive, it's as a folder.
Copy.com have a BETA 'mount as drive' add-on, might be worth a look if you absolutely must mount it as a drive.
I, however, have found it incredibly simple to just use the Google Drive folder as a root, not copying stuff to and fro, just move the whole file structure there for important documents/projects0 -
If you're willing to pay, you can do this using Expandrive. It supports Dropbox and others too.0
