Instagram spy app?

Hi,
Does anyone know an app for an Android phone like one of those spy apps or lost phone type apps that can monitor Instagram?, more the chat comments than the actual photos although both would be good.
If it did SMS sent/received too even better.
All the ones I have seen so far cover Facebook and whatsapp etc. but none seem to cover Instagram, except Webwatcher. Even that only mentions the pictures not comments. Also the reviews for it on some sites are diabolical!
What about other options, like creating my own account and following the person, would I see all posts between them and others then so I could unobtrusively lurk if I didn't post?
Rooting would be a problem on this phone but physical access is not, its a teens phone and its only intended for a short term until I can see if I can trust them on there.
