in Credit cards
Probably a stupid question, but...if I apply to my credit card issuer for an increase in my credit limit, will they run a credit search as a matter of routine?

Halifax have just upped my limit by £4k without me asking, it's gone up every 6 months, god only knows why, I will never use the limit set by them.Aiming to be debt free....but still off target0

I followed jay78's advice and phoned to ask - yes, if you have an &MORE card they will run a credit search if you ask for an increase.
(I was weighing up increasing the limit on the &MORE card to be able to use the 0% on purchases for longer, vs. applying for a new BT card to move the balance into to achieve the same thing.)0
