Would u buy an iPad mini on Gumtree or shop with guarantee? Do they often have issues?

As a rule of thumb, DO NOT BUY ANY 2nd hand Apple iOS device from ANYWHERE unless the seller will wait while you erase it and activate it yourself - I've seen loads of cases of people buying iPads and iPhones that are still locked to the seller and essentially paying £300-£600 for a brick.
If this happens Apple will refuse to help you, and the seller will disappear off the face of the earth leaving you stuck.0 -
I wouldn't buy an Apple iPad from anywhere. since Jobs' death, share prices have been up and down wildly, and I think the popularity of Apple of late was due to him. Look elsewhere for tablet and phone needs because you're only going to end up buying a new one in a year or two's time0

I have several friends with iPad Minis and they are very happy with them. I plan to treat myself to one at Christmas. I would buy via John Lewis for best guarantee.0
