Well let's hope they do it within the 6 months time limit, or it will all be moot. :D

Of course another way might to use a third party to cash/deposit the cheque, thereby breaking a link in the chain.?

I spoke to my uncle today and he reckons it's not uncommon for natwest to deal with payments on other banks behaves ? I have no idea ??? But I so think why would obd not just pay you direct rather than go through another bank ?

    :D Good idea :D.

Only one drawback, you will still be acknowledging the debt, if that is what these cheques are all about.

I cannot believe that BOS are so laid back about this. If it is indeed a debt collection agency, what a dirty trick?.

Im the one who cashed the cheque, like i said it was fifty pounds compensation for an old charge on a loan and it totalled one hundred and thirtty eight inclusive of interest less tax decucted, i have had no probs with Bos, who i later claimed ppi with and won a very large amount payout with through the information that was on thieir original compensation letter. If you have paid your debts you have nothing too fear. Just a note compared to some of the claims that i have had and won, Bos/Halfifax are by far the best.

    Why would you say this?.
The general consensus is, this is for bad debts that are trying to be
    re-couped.

Forgive me for being cynical, but even on the Legal Beagles and this forum, you are the only one who has banked the cheque with no problem.

We need to see more posts with the good news that the cheques are ok and there are no strings attached.

I still have not received the £50 refund they said was given as a credit to my account... not surprising really, considering the account is non existent.
