Ldk parking ticket.

Hi guys, right I dont know what to do, I got a parking ticket from these when I went to Durham hospital a week ago today, and usually I would ignore them but I ignored my parking eye ticket and I ended up with a CCJ because of it! So i'm now in 2 minds what to do with this one!

What happened was I went in and was very close to my appointment time and the main car park there was atleast a 20 minute wait to get into it and the small overflow carpark there was a wait to get in there too so I put it on the grass just outside the carpark where I had seen people Park before with no parking fines and I also had no change with me so I bought something from the hospital shop and paid my parking fee when I came back out on my way back to the car as you would in the main carpark. When I got back to the car I noticed the ticket which I half expected due to not paying for parking before going for my appointment, but it actually said that it was due to me being parked in a "no parking area" although I have proof there is no signs where I was parked to say no parking although there was in other places around the carpark. I wasn't obstruting any paths etc.

So my question is what do I do?

you read the NEWBIES sticky thread and appeal it following the instructions in that thread

doesnt really matter about "what happened on the day"

and its not a FINE either, its an invoice

no private parking company can fine you, they are not judges and its not a court of law either

they issue an invoice due to a perceived breaking of the rules , which can give you 6 years of hassle and like with PE it could lead to court

so as the law changed nearly 3 years ago, you appeal
  • Thanks for the reply redx! I'll have a look tonight when I get in from work. Thanks for the info. :-)
