Bathroomm ceiling plaster painting tips

I am getting a complete bathroom refurbishment with installation of a wet room and the only thing they won't do is paint the ceiling after plastering.
From my reading, is it correct to let it dry for a week or two and then put a primer on first before a layer of bathroom grade paint (preferably anti mould like one sold by Ronseal)?

My plasterer said to just wait until all the plaster had dried so it was all the same colour then coat with a 25% watered down emulsion before the final coat. Call me a sceptic, or just tight, but I've never used bathroom grade paint and never had any issues with mould.0

So diluted first coat, how many coats of the diluted one you use and the final coat does it have to be diluted?
Also the emulsion paint, Matt or shine?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

As a professional, I will reiterate what flashg76 says.
Wait for a few days until the ceiling has gone light pink. In this weather it will only take 3 days to dry, if that.
Apply a diluted coat of MATT emulsion (25-40% dilution is fine). Then apply
2 undiluted coats of your chosen emulsion.
However, there is no such thing as bathroom paint. It is a scam by the paint industry to make you buy silk emulsion at over inflated prices. Architects, designets and painters never specify it and you wont find it available at trade paint suppliers.
The reason you get mould is nothing to do with the paint, but the lack of ventilation.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
I found a "new plaster paint" at Screwfix, very reasonable price and it covered well. I'm not saying to use as a finished paint but gives you a good base.0

Am I right in saying the final emulsion shouldn't be shine as it shows up the ceilings blemishes?
What about using a primer instead of the diluted emulsion is it the same thing?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

You can also use some patterns I guess.0
