Gas Meter Going Backwards
I don't read my meters as often as i maybe should do, but as i was in credit with my supplier i thought i would submit a reading and then claim the rest back.
Gas usage is generally really low as i have an ASHP fitted, so it is just used for cooking and when the temperature gets really low.
my reading in December was 5772 kWh, last week the meter read 5750 kWh, supplier cannot explain and meter appears to be recording correctly now - does this make no sense to every one else also?

Either you have used slightly less than 99999kw, or the regulator is now attatched the right hand side of the meter, or you have a slipped dial.0

Makes no sense at all without help from a human. Imperial meters can be turned round and they reverse or an air pump or vacuum cleaner can be attached to reverse the direction.I find many electric meters running backwards, another 2 today, ( solar panels ) but never a gas meter.0

Many thanks for the replies, agree it makes little sense without someone having a look at it, the meter had recently had its gas safety inspection carried out - not sure if that is related.0
