CPP ignoring appeals? (car parking partnership)

A parking notice was placed on a vehicle I own on the 18th of March this year at Aberystwyth University. I appealed the day after I got the ticket as there was a good reason for me to park there, in that I was aiding my partner in moving out of the halls.
I've since received no correspondence regarding my appeal and as time goes by the letters are getting more and more threatening. I have appealed again today (though the 28 days to appeal have passed about two months ago) stating that I have previously appealed and that the university are now attempting to contact them to back my story up.
I have seen that many are ignoring tickets of this type, however I'm unsure as to how far CPP are going to take this. I'd rather sort it out instead of ignoring it, just in case. Any advice or experiences with this company would be appreciated
Thanks!

happens a lot with various companies, if they are in the BPA , complain to them with copies of all paperwork and a timeline , details in the NEWBIES sticky thread
a landowner cancellation (or a letter showing they are on your side) would be ideal as well
any letters are probably debt collector letters who are toothless and should be ignored0 -
The problem I have is that CPP don't send any confirmation of an appeal (or at least not to me), in hindsight I should have printed my appeal. I did this today, however it's a bit late now.
The university appears to be on my side and are contacting cpp. I've also got a few emails from the students union and have had a meeting with them. If I got them to send me an email would this work? Who would I send it to?
Thanks!0 -
how did you appeal in the first place ?
online ?
by email ?
by post ?
if by post, did you get a free certificate of posting from the P.O. ?
I doubt that CPP will respond to anything apart from money or the landowner telling them to cancel it
so your best bet is the university cancelling it
there are no easy answers, so stop looking for them , the point is that the university employed CPP, so the matter is between them and you are caught in the middle
CPP have 6 years to pursue an alleged debt for an invoice , you have been denied your right to appeal , I assume you still have the initial pcn ?
the better the paper trail , the better your chances, but it seems to me you want the university (landowner) to give you some sort of letter absolving you of blame and indicating you had permission to park (just in case CPP try court)
get a landowner cancellation asap, thats the best method of getting rid of it0 -
I don't see CPP or Car Parking Partnership in the AOS lists of either BPA or IPC.0

I used their online appeals process, it just shows a screen with Appeal submitted and saying they have 14 days to process the appeal.
Thanks, I'll contact the students union Monday morning!
bod1467: The letters they send are covered with BPA logos, so I take that they're somehow associated with each other.0 -
in that case complain to the BPA and give them a timeline of what you did and when, and copies of ALL correspondence so far (and complain about the lack of any refusal and popla code too)
you can email s clark or the lady that deals with it
any letters by the university and students union should be kept for the future, just in case of any court case, as part of your defence0 -
Thanks so much! One last question, how often do the parking companies take people to court?0
-
depends who it is , some (Parking Eye) issue over 30 thousand court claims a year, others none
Barry Beavis is in the Supreme Court in 3 weeks (his third time in court in the last 16 months) on a Parking Eye case
I doubt yours will issue court proceedings, but never say never and they have 6 years to do so
you should concentrate on getting it cancelled by the landowner0
