Out of the Ashes!

Right after many many years off sticking my head in the sand when it comes to what debt I have and just lurking around reading other peoples diary's I have finally decided enough is enough time to start sorting myself out not just financially but in other senses as well. Decided to start writing my own diary in an attempt to get myself sorted and in a better place both emotionally and financially.

This year so far has been quite rubbish starting off with my relationship breaking down and then months of ill health including a stay in hospital which has now seen me currently on sick pay from work and having to take a year of university (im a 41 year old mature student) whilst we try and get my condition back into remission (I suffer from Ulcerative Colitis), as it is I will have to re-take this year when i do go back (more debt to add to the list lol)

I have an awful habit of just letting life carry me along and after lots of soul searching ive realised in some ways im too much of a people pleaser where i tend to give much more than what i expect to receive back which has lend to a few diastrous realaioonships along the way! (think most of this stems from emotional abuse i suffered as a child - something i can talk about now but still need to work on the fact that i am someone worthwhile and deserving)

So after a visit today from a court officer about a fine that needs paying i have taken the bull by the horns now and going to find all the paperwork i have and work out exactly how much i owe! here goes
