Sometimes when I'm tired at certain points during the day I'm unable to walk at all. Would I potentially fit in with the other 12 point descriptor of not being able to move more than a meter?
Exactly how it is assessed is a different question.
'Cannot either aided or unaided ...move 1m' does not include people who can walk 1-20m.
If you cannot - repeatably, reliably, safely, on most days as and when required - stand and walk 1m, you would in principle qualify for this descriptor.
This is according to both DWP guidance, and the law.
How well particular assessments will assess this is questionable.0 -

There are no statistics available.
Ideally, there would be anonymised PIP claims available for analysis, bit there are not.
Put as much detail as you can into where you have problems.
'I have difficulty at times walking 1m'.
Does not enable the DM to justify this.
'On every day this week except Wednesday and Friday I had problems standing and walking 1m from the toilet to the bath. This was due to pain and fatigue. It took me (based on my partner timing me) 8 seconds, and I fell over once'
Lets in principle the DM make a decision based on reliability or time as well as simple ability.0 -

Posts on forums are to a large degree self-selecting, and are a problem, for obvious reasons.
One obvious issue for bias would be if people with physical conditions denied are unlikely to post about it due to most succeeding.
Or if people who get a positive decision about mental conditions are more likely - or their carer are more likely to post.
Or if there are specific arthritus forums with benefit sections.
I remember statistics on award broken down by primary disabling condition, but cannot find this.
Statistics based on posts on forums are almost meaningless.0
