PPI -case closed query

Hi, Basically I made a claim for PPI on credit card and got a small amount back. The claim was for having a CC since 1990. I only got my PPI back from 2007 to 2011.
I called them up and complained that I had my CC since 1990 and that there must be some mistake. No there wasn't, we do not have any records pre 2007 or any record that you had a credit card previously!!!
Recently made claim through a PPI management company. And the same credit card company(tsb) has admitted they hold records of me holding a card since 1990, but they consider the case closed as I did not make a complaint to the ombusman 6 months after my initial complaint was settled in 2011. The PPI claims company has said there is nothing they can do as the case is closed.
My question is; Is there nothing else I can do to pursue this?
Thanks for taking time out to read this and or respond

No.
You have 6 months to refer to the FOS if you disagree with the response from the firm. After 6 months the case is closed unless there is significant new evidence that could change the decision.
Do you have any evidence of payments prior to 2007? We know the company hasnt as they have said so. So, its reliant on what you have.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
