Another quick one as it is actually quite busy today despite the heat.
Ziggy- NST is ninja saving turtles. One of the NSD challenges. I started participating end of last year and found it really friendly and useful for hitting 20 NSDs per month.
Hannah - thank you for noticingconsidering I started the month on £4,750 I feel very motivated!

Afternoon all.
Your day out sounds lovely, Ally.
I remembered to bring lunch from home. DH has a gig tonight but I've opted not to go for many reasons:
a) It's really boring as he'll want to chat to all his self-absorbed, wannabe rock star, faceache chums who, bar saying 'hello' totally ignore me. He disagrees but I swear I'm going to turn up one night and hand out a questionnaire entitled 'what do you know about FatVonD?' to prove my point as not one of them has ever asked me one thing about myself!
b) Big Brother live eviction
c) DS needs a bit of a talking to re his hatred for DH
I've had a bit of a falling out with my NPD mum who made a nasty comment (one of many) about 'did I think anyone was interested in me talking about the kids' despite the fact that one of them is her own grandchild! But this is the woman who had pictures of the next door neighbour's kids proudly on display in her sitting room while her own grandson was relegated to my dad's bedroom so I don't know why I'm surprised.
I'm still not making overpayments on anything or saving but I suppose the balances are going down a little with just the regular payments and my mortgage balance has gone down by another £1,500 since I checked back in March so I guess that's money in the bank once I sell. I'm going to look at a flat on Saturday afternoon which has good sized bedrooms and is near the station. I'm not 100% convinced I'm going to love it at the moment but it could be lovely.
Rumour has it that the mag I opted to take redundancy from 18 months ago is folding so thank the Lord I didn't relocate with them!
Have a good day all, sorry I'm on such a downer
PS Can someone tell me (again!) the website where you sell your books too, the one where you have to have 10 before they will collect, please?Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Thanks for the welcome
I've been browsing various baby shoe/sock websites but I've resisted buying to this point. My husband claims I have an online shopping problem. I probably do - hehe! - but I'm doing my best.My Debt Free Diary

Hi & welcome kayannie & Claree x
Bob the funeral is on Thursday. I've got to sit down and work out what I want to say...
Hi to everyone else
Small things for today:
* fancied something nice for lunch so bought some nice bits while shopping instead of spending £4.50 on the sandwich I wanted to get from the farmers shop. Cost less and have enough for a few sandwiches
* did a load of washing & put on line
* put 2 loads away
* checked banking
* clean bathroom
* sent dgd to CM with HM birthday cake (it's her birthday tomorrow)
* got few additional ingredients to make cake for her for tomorrow
* searched out a recipe for tonight (going to sneakily do 2 meals a week vegetarian but won't tell oh! Will need to be nice to get away with it...)
* Plant seeds and repot last of the plants. Salad leaves & basil have started to germinate :j
Think that's all I have to do.
Sat down and spoke to oh about our financial situation and plans for our immediate future/while I haven't got a job. Oh is fine with me needing a bit of time at the moment to get my head around everything and work out what I want to do work wise. I really feel like I have come to the end of the road with working in the industry I do (I work with vulnerable people and have done for 12 years, in the last 7 years I went into management). I used to love doing what I did but the last few years have just been pressurised and stressful. Think I'm burnt out and need to find something I love again, which I suspect won't be in this area.
We worked out if the worst came to the worst we could live on his salary and I'd just use my savings for my spending money. We'll give the CM notice at the end of August if I haven't got a job by then.
Anyway sorry for the ramble! xDF as at 30/12/16

One of my favourites, going to the Bannatynes gym this morning and having a coffee afterward. However, instead of buying a 4 finger Kit Kat at £1.00 from their cafe, I have in my rucksack a smuggled in one from a multipack that I bought in Farmfoods at 4 x 4 Fingers for 89p! Ya beauty. I'm working up to smuggling in sachets of coffee and teabags and asking for a mug of boiling water, although maybe that's taking it too far.0

Hi
FatvonD the book website I used was on amazon. You have to put in the is number and condition to get an offer of a price. It nearly killed me to get 50p back on a book I had bought for £20 but overall I made quite a bit and had a delicious clean out.
Decluttering has restarted here. Very quietly as I take something off and realised it had a bleach mark, or mark, it goes in the bin. My supply of farm clothes was ridiculously huge so it is being culled. Will take some time. But needs doing.
Work was manic and am now sat down watching H Watson have a go at SW at Wimbledon. Would be lovely but am not holding my breath!
Need to do floors over the weekend. All else done.
Have a great money savings weekend all.

Hi All
Finally home and sat down with a cuppa. Came in to the rather horrible sight of black flies, the big fat ones, climbing all over my kitchen window, so I suspect the cat has either brought something in we've missed, or there is a dead mouse around somewhere. Grim. Funny thing is there was an awful smell in the kitchen last night that I put down to a bowl of tuna being left in the sink, well the remains of it from DH & DSs lunch (cleanliness and all that....) & I washed that up pronto, and put the bin out too, but I suspect neither of them was the real culprit....
In other exciting newsthe couple who are having the party at mine tommorow came in for lunch today to check out the place. They couldnt have been any nicer and have even invited my son along to the bit with the entertainer. He is about 3 years older than the rest of the little ones but was delighted to accept. Honestly there are people like that, and then people who go out of their way to make you feel crap. So I am looking forward to tommorow even more now. Its going to be hard work, but I think it will be financially rewarding, & nice to work for good people who dont think you are a skivvy!
FVD - Your Mum sounds like she forgot her happy pills quite frankly. How mean of her to say that to you. also, sorry there is friction between DS & DH. His mates sound a bit spesh anyway, all the most interesting men are normally more interested in women than men to talk to anyway I find...your post wasnt moany, funny & interesting as always.
KayAnnie - Sorry to hear about your dog being a bit limpy. Hope he feels better soon without trip to vet.
Claree - Why dont you wack the total in your signature, its great for motivation when you see it going down. Nice to meet you as well.
Determined - I really hope it will be as pleasant as it can be. I found my Dads funeral very surreal. To say we had a fractious relationship would be the understatement of the century, but I still remember the funeral as a bright patch in a pretty horrible history from my mid teens to losing him at 30 (me not him obs)
Its good you can live on your OHs salary, that must be an enormous relief. It really does sound like you just need time out to figure out the next steps. Having DGD in your life so fully must change how you want to live it too I'd imagine.
Hugs to all who need them.
