Desktop Icons - XP

I arrange the icons on my desktop in an untidy order that suits my untidy way of working. Every now and again XP decides, without any input from me, to shuffle them and rearrange them in nice tidy rows.
Right clicking on the desktop gives a number of options for icon arrangement but not the one I want. i.e. "Leave the icons where I put them".
Is there a solution that stops XP from interfering?

In the icon arrangement under "View" make sure "Align to grid" and "Auto arrange" are not selected.0 -
Thanks Millionaire but the only thing I have ticked is "show desktop items".0

Just a thought, doesn't the Desktop Cleanup Wizard (or something similar) run every 30 days?
That offers to remove any icons not recently used, but I can't remember if it rearranges them.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Thanks Spud17. I saw this but switched it off as I prefer to decide when to delete something. Never really trust these auto things. Its hardly a disaster situation, but very irritating.0
