Facebook groups - difference between 'closed' and 'secret'?

I am on a few groups, and see that one has recently changed to 'secret'..
Are funny handshakes now needed, or what..??
(joining the group had previously been moderated, which I guess remains.)

As I understand it...
Closed means you can search for it and find it, but have to be approved to join.
Secret means a search won't find it and and so you need someone to send you an invite to be able to join.My postings reflect my lifetime's experience and my opinion. You are quite welcome to respond with your experiences and option, whether similar or different.0
