Can someone compare HomeServe and British Gas Homecare for me?

Hi
I would really appreciate some help as I find it confusing to say the least!

My British Gas Home Care 400(Boiler,Plumbing,Electricity and Boiler Service) renewal is about £260 with£50 excess.

I looked online and found a similar service by HomeServe(HomeServce cover 8 with additional Pest,Security cover) comes to only £116 with £50 excess!

Can someone who has tried both or at least HomeServe let me know if I am not seeing anything obvious!

P.S: If 'Gerrard_8_lfc' is still around, can you give me some insight please?

They are..err..incomparable...

We have always had BG Homecare and find them very good but have to negotiate every year with them otherwise they would keep increasing the price for the 400 service.

However the last engineer who came out was a complete and utter knob head.
