High view parking fine

We parked in a car park on holiday in Tenby on 4/6/15 and paid for 5 hours parking. We have now received. A charge notice today (2/7/15) this seems such a scam. Who would still have their parking ticket from a holiday 4 weeks ago? The evidence is a photo of us going in and out of the car park. It would be quite easy to target registrations from out of the area? They are requesting£35 within 14 days or £70 in 28 days. Any advice would be much appreciated as we know that we did pay

It now transpires after talking to my husband that one of the digits was not working on the machine, pity he never mentioned it at the time. Surely they had a registration that was ours with one digit missing???

no , you dont know what you did as you clearly have no idea that it is not a fine, its an invoice (it wont say fine anywhere on it, its not allowed to)

and you should keep receipts like parking payment tickets for at least say 6 months, or up to 6 years, as its a contract of parking and could save you hundreds of pounds with problems like this (never throw them away until months or years have passed)

advice ? yes , read the NEWBIES sticky thread and follow it to the letter, its near the top of this forum

do not tell them who was driving, dont mention the missing ticket, just add an extra point in your appeal that the payment ticket may have a character missing and insist they check your VRN against all ticket payments between say an hour before your arrival and an hour after departure , looking for one that closely matches the payment ticket

do not tell them who was driving, stick to the template, be caereful how you word the VRN and missing character issue

    insist on a cancellation though
  • Thanks for advice. Can I just ask, you said to never mention who the driver was but by stating that the machine was faulty am I not admitting I was there? Also have I read the information on technicalities correct that you should receive notification within 14 days? As this was 26 days. Thanks again

yes you are admitting you were there (or you werent and the driver has told you on his/her return)

if I had been driving your car (on my insurance) and you were a passenger in the vehicle (and you are RK) then you were there too , but "the driver" would be saying that a character was missing on the ticket due to some sort of "error" and has told the RK to tell highview to check their machines again, looking for a close match

my wife drives me about regularly , we are both "there" , but I am the RK and she is the driver , capiche ? ;)

she also drives it without me , if she got a "ticket" , I would be responsible as RK , even if I am 200 miles away

so you would mention that the driver has stated blah blah

as the NEWBIES thread says, none of the me , myself and I business

learn to speak in the third party, relating info , catch my drift ? good , lol

if no windscreen ticket was put on the car, then under POFA 2012 the NTK to the RK should arrive within 14 days, so by day 15

if its 26 days, they took too long and the RK is not responsible, so the RK appeals and also tells them to take a hike and chase the driver (who will NOT be named) due to Highview not meeting POFA2012 requirements, and this will be in the popla appeal too
  • Thankyou so much. Really appreciate your help
  • Parking charge cancelled thanks you your advice and appeal stencil. Despite some people saying ignore it, until that letter comes through there is always some uncertainty
