"We're really proud our customers are so happy with Plusnet that we lead the market when it comes to customer satisfaction* - and we want to make sure that you keep on getting this award-winning service. We're continuing to invest in our services and we now have even more people, all based in the UK, to provide support online or on the phone.
Our customers are now doing more than ever before online - streaming movies, downloading music, gaming and shopping, so we've continued to invest in our network and this year alone have doubled our capacity. We've introduced new products too, like our free online parental control tool, SafeGuard, to make it easier to keep unwanted content out of reach.
But even we have to raise our prices from time to time, so on 2nd September 2015, we're making some changes to our home phone pricing and call charges. The cost of our monthly line rental will increase to £16.99 a month, and you can see the changes listed below.
Save money with Line Rental Saver
We're making some changes to your Line Rental Saver, which will still save you money on your phone bill when you pay for 12 months line rental in advance. The renewal charge for Line Rental Saver on or after the 2nd September 2015 will increase to £185.88, equivalent to £15.49 a month, which equates to a saving of £18 per year.
Our updated home phone and call packages
Here are the changes happening to our home phone and call packages. To remind yourself of which plan you're on, you can log in to Member Centre.
• Monthly Line Rental - £16.99 a month
• Evening and Weekend‡ Calls - £3.00 a month

• Anytime Calls† - £6.00 a month

Retaining inclusive 0845 and 0870 calls will continue to push up costs for all subscribers as providers try to continue the illusion that these are cheap numbers to call.
Calls to 084 numbers incur Service Charges of up to 7p per minute or per call to the benefit of the called party and their telecoms provider. Calls to 087 numbers incur Service Charges of up to 13p per minute or per call.
Plusnet's offer is that you pay them £3 or £6 per month and can then make calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers such that Plusnet has to pay out anything up to £130 to the organisations that you called. That money has to come from somewhere. Where it comes from increased call prices for other Plusnet customers calling other types of number.0 -
Is Line Rental Saver really worth it these days (saving £18 a year) when it ties you into a contract more as if you decide to cancel due to price-rises (for example with this latest hike) you won't get anything back.
I think my contract ends at the end of September when it goes back to standard price (£16.99 a month for broadband plus £16.99 for rental), so I will search around
Although being in an non-LLU area means all the juicy market leading deals are not available (i.e. only Sky I can get is the rubbish Sky Connect)0 -
Also with Plusnet and feel that it is time to look elsewhere, so do let us know your decision!0

Hi we are 2 pensioners who have so far been very happy with Plusnet .We had broadband only for a number of years and in December 2014 we splashed out and went the whole hog of line rental, broadband ,etc and after a long conversation were persuaded to commit to a 24 month contract as we could be sure the prices wouldn't go up for us before the end of our contract. Now Plusnet will not honour this contract with us ,the prices go up in september regardless and we have been more or less told that if we are unhappy with this we can leave and as long as we do it at once they will not penalize us .There is something wrong here.0

Nothing wrong its normal to allow 30 days to leave after they inform you of a price rise on your contract .Its all in your terms and conditions .
If you where informed that their would be no price rise on your contract then you need evidence of that .0 -

My opinion is that Plusnet's excellent 'free' easy to access Technical Support would be very difficult to beat.
