RBS Preference Account PPI Claim Rejection

I have started a PPI claim against RBS on a preference account I have had a result of a loan taken out from the AA in 2001. I have receiveD a letter stating that the PPI was provided through an external company but do not state who that company is. Maybe AA? Has anyone else come across this as the credit card statement that comes through to me every month is from RBS.

Thank you.

I would say about 3 weeks ago. It may be because they are saying that the PPI is with an external company. I just don't know who as they have not advised who this company is on the letter!! As you haven't heard anything at all, it could be that your claim hasn't been dismissed out of hand, as mine has been!

Mine is linked with 3 bank loans, i took preference account with nws (i think it was ) they are bank of scotland, i still had the credit agreements etc, so i contacted them, they are getting close to my 8 week deadline. Your letter might be a fob off do you have any paperwork?

I don't think I have any going back that far. I have moved house 3 times since then and they may well have been lost! It sounds similar to my situation and sounds as though the PPI is with RBS then. Hmm. Will have to dig into this further as I am not happy. Wouldn't be so bad if they had told me who this external company is. Have a feeling that you're right and I'm being fobbed off!

Can I ask why you made a complaint to RBS when it was AA that sold it?

The seller carries the liability. Not the provider (unless the seller and provider are one the same)

The credit card I have is from RBS but is linked with a loan that I took out through the AA. The loan and the credit card have always been separate and I was under the impression that I would need to make 2 PPI claims. One on the loan and one on the credit card.

I think i have the same set up, i had a loan with nws bank which i think is part of Bos, and took out the preference account with bos at same time. If you can find credit agreement that will help, ive got four all showing ppi added as single premium.

So the single premium is with RBS?
