Double underline green hyperlinks

For the past week or two I've noticed that on both iPad and iPhone certain words are coming up with a double underlined green hyperlink. I've experienced this once before on a laptop and discovered it was a malware issue which was easily resolved.

I've tried searching for a solution but there appears to be nothing available for iPad/iPhone users, only Mac OX or Windows. This is occurring in both Safari and Chrome. Any ideas how I might resolve it please?

Go to Safari / Preferences / Privacy and click on Remove All Website Data.

Still in Safari / Preferences, click Security, check the box for Block pop-up windows.

Finally, still in Safari / Preferences, click Extensions and delete anyting you did not yourself install.

Now, still with Safari running, type command, option and E - all three keys together.

That's a solution for Mac OX and not mobile devices. As I said, I've already searched for resolutions online.

The irony is that they claim iPads and iPhones can't be infected by malware, but obviously something is, somewhere!

Got a link to one of the sites in question ? Or maybe a screenshot ?
I assume you've cleared your cache, cookies etc. http://www.howtogeek.com/205653/how-to-clear-history-cache-and-cookies-in-safari-on-iphone-or-ipad/

For some reason, clicking on your link above just brings me back to this thread. Strange. Not important as a I rarely use Safari, only if I open a link in email which directs me to that browser. I predominantly use Chrome.

The sites I tend to have this issue with tend to be news sites that I've followed via Facebook and Twitter, although I've just tested by going direct to a news website and opened the same page and the hyperlink is still present.

I already have it installed on both, as far as mobile devices will work with Adblock anyway.

    Is it happening on forums?

I ask as some forums have an option to turn keywords into links to let the owners make some money if you click the links (usually turned off by default for registered users, but on for unregistered users).

No. Last time I had this problem on a laptop it was on forums, including this one, where I discovered it was adware/malware which was easily removed. Perhaps the news sites are now employing a similar tactic. There has certainly been an increase of intrusive adverts on some of the local rag websites of late. Perhaps I'll ask on Facebook if other users are experiencing the same.
