Mobile Phone Insurance

Hi,
I have just noticed that what I thought was a bank charge direct debit coming out of my bank every month was in fact insurance from phones for you on a mobile I bought in 2005. At the time it was my understanding that the insurance went along with the handset for the year contract I had taken out with O2. Is it my fault that I haven't cancelled it, even though I wasn't aware this was seperate from the contract with O2?
When the contract was up after 12 months, I upgraded my phone with O2 and took out insurance with them. So it seems I have been unwittingly paying a years insurance (coming to just under £100) on a phone I didn't even have anymore. I was hoping someone could advise me if there is anything I can do in this situation?
I have contacted phones for u and asked them to refund me and cancel the insurance. They will contact me within 5 days.
Very frustrating!!
I would appreciate any advice!

It is your fault and I doubt you will get much joy from Phones4U. IMHO phone insurance is a rip off. You may find the phone is covered under home contents insurance."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
